We know summer is often filled with camps and family vacations and we welcome swimmers to join the team for whatever practices/meets they are able to attend. Any child over five who can swim two laps of freestyle in the deep pool, has passed the Nomahegan Deep Water test, and is comfortable doing the practice can join the team.
A $50 registration fee is charged for each child joining the swim or dive team not to exceed $135 per family. In 2025, the fee for joining both the swim and dive team is $60 per child also not to exceed $135 per family.
Any questions, please feel free to reach out to our head coach at swimanddive@nomahegan.net
Swim Registration
A $50 registration fee is charged for each child joining the swim team not to exceed $135 per family. In 2025, the fee for joining both the swim and dive team is $60 per child also not to exceed $135 per family. All parents must register their child(ren) if they will be participating on the teams. Please submit the online form and waiver when it becomes available. This waiver assures your child’s fitness to participate and is required by the management of the club in order to comply with current insurance requirements. For those forms returned by Wednesday, May 21st, swimmers will receive a personalized gift. Any questions, can be submitted to swimanddive@nomahegan.net.
Swim Team Parent Volunteers
In order to run a swim meet, we need many parent volunteers to help out. There are a variety of jobs available, most of which require no experience so don’t be intimidated. And what better way to cheer your child on?
As a member of the team, one parent will be required to work a minimum of two (2) swim meets plus the championship meet. Possible jobs include:
Announcer – announcing the events
Scoring – calculating the score of the meet
Averaging – circling the middle time
Timer – using a stopwatch to time the races
Writer – writing down times
Runner – carrying timing slips to the scoring table
Ribbons – writing out ribbons for our younger swimmers
Officials Training - Learn more about competitive swim!
Are you interested in learning more about the sport of swimming and helping out the team? While we will not have parent volunteer officials in 2025, if you are interested in learning more about the sport, the league provides a self-guided training course.
Please contact Steve Kapuscinski at stevekapuscinski@yahoo.com for more information about this self-guided course.
