Water Polo is a new exciting activity offered at Nomahegan. Each session will be a mix of instruction and game play.
Similar to our swim team, all levels are welcome! Our coaching staff will give you a workout and help you with your skill. No signups are required. Just drop in. Hope to see you in the pool!
Water Polo Schedule
Tuesday 6/25 and 7/2 and Thursday 7/11, 7/18, 7/25 and 8/1
Youth Group (15 and under): 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm
Open Group (all ages): 6:45 pm - 7:30 pm
2024 Water Polo Coaching Staff
Head Coach
We welcome back Granger Abuhoff as Head Water Polo Coach for the 2024 Season. Granger has been playing locally in NJ since 1998. He played for Lawrenceville and Connecticut College before playing for and starting multiple masters' teams including the Brooklyne Wets. He has coached at the middle school, high school, college and masters' level. He currently coaches at Jersey Aquatic Center while playing with and assistant coaching at the Madison Y and the Chatham Fish and Game programs. Granger looks forward to teaching the game and further developing Nomahegan's water polo program
Assistant Coach
Ben Lucas joins the team this season as an Assistant Coach. Ben plays for St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City as well as Orange Edge in Lawrenceville. Ben has a passionate commitment to water polo and spreading awareness of the game.
